LONDON BRIDGE IS DOWN? Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, the longest living and reigning Monarch in British history is 91 years old, and like all human beings on earth, she will die soon. Once she dies, there's a protocol, 65 years in the making, that will be initiated with the phrase "London Bridge is Down" that will set off her succession plan. Upon her last breath, this phrase will be uttered and immediately her private secretary will contact the Prime Minister of England and on a special line that only connects from Buckingham Palace to 10 Downing Street, and speak these words "London Bridge is Down." The Prime Minister then instructs her staff to communicate the information to the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom. The Foreign Office then relays the message to the 52 countries of the Commonwealth nations who still pledge allegiance to the queen, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, Bahamas, Granada etc. O

If you’re a regular follower of the Trump presidency, you wouldn’t be surprised with Buhari’s presidency that’s so much in love with media. The only difference is that while the White House regularly engages the media and answers inquiries, Buhari’s Aso Rock choose only the inquiries that favor their base. They don’t respond to allegation like Kemi Adeosun forgery saga or the army of lawyers hired by the AGF to reclaim Abatcha’s loot. They don’t. APC is gradually becoming a nefarious group on grown of cult followership. They manipulate the media and pose others that disagree with them as ‘fake news’. An opinion similar to Donald Trump when describing left-leaning media. This is becoming worrisome to our democracy and state of development as a nation; whereby an APC candidate is projected as a godsend while others as ‘thieves’. The more Buhari pledge to deal with looters, the more send his base to an exalted fantasy position. Just as similar as how Trumps base resonates with th

Sir Robert Peel's NINE PRINCIPLES for the police

1829- Sir Robert Peel, 2nd Baronet (February 5, 1788 – July 2, 1850) introduces the first professional police force. Robert Peel introduced the world's first modern police force through the Royal Assent of the Metropolitan Police Act of 1829 and set up an organised police force for London, with 17 divisions, each with 4 inspectors and 144 constables.  It was to be controlled from Scotland Yard, and answerable to the Home Secretary. Sir Robert Peel had already established the Royal Irish Constabulary in 1812, and it had proved to be a great success. They became known as Peelers and Bobbies after their founder, and wore a dark blue 'long coat' and a 'tall hat' which they could use to stand on to look over walls, a pair of 'handcuffs' and a 'wooden rattle' to raise the alarm. By the 1880s this rattle was replaced by a 'whistle'. Blue was chosen because it was the colour of the popular Royal Navy rather than red which was

You know, in Nigeria, we always admire other countries with young leaders. We admired Canada when Justin Trudeau became their elected Prime Minister. We cherished France when Emmanuel Macron got the popular vote. And finally, in the recent World Cup played in Russia, we got introduced to one ‘hot’ and cute lady as Croatians President. (Believe me, she’s hot wallahi). Many Nigerians do cherish South African opposition led by Julius Malema and do support him because of his youthful exuberance and because of his youthful ideas, expression and embraced his posture as opposition leader. But, back home when youth intellectuals became interested and joined the political terrain, we dismissed their ideas as lagging because we thought Nigeria is a complex nation that need governance experience. Experience my foot! If what we’ve been witnessing since 1999 has anything to do with ‘experience’. Then experience my foot, I repeat. Sowore and his #TakeItBack movement has launched a worldwid

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo recently spoke at the 30th National Biennial Conference of the Students Christian Movement of Nigeria holding in Enugu, and he used the opportunity to berate gospel preachers for failing to preach against the corruption. The acting President further stated that the problem with Nigeria was neither ethnicity nor religion but systemic corruption, added that corruption has been so entrenched in the country that if you dare challenge it, you will be in the minority. Challenging the youths to change the narrative and make the difference by checking the impunity of those that had stolen the resources of the country, acting President Yemi Osinbajo said members of the SCM mus ensure that the movement becomes one of the tools that will move the country forward. According to Osinbajo, young Christians have special and distinct roles to play in the transformation of the country which is superior to those of other sets of people. “Very rarely do you h
