BINDOW REASSURES IGBOS OF SAFETY PROMISES ADAMAWA PEOPLE GOOD GOVERNANCE.
While addressing various groups and organizations at the banquet hall of the Government House, Yola, on the occasion of this year's Eid-Eil-Fitr celebration marking the end of the Ramadan fast, the Adamawa state Governor Senator Muhammed Umaru Jibrilla Bindow says Adamawa state is peaceful and accommodating to all Nigerians without prejudice, Bindow says the Igbos are welcome as part of the people of Adamawa and as Nigerians, he assured them that we are all Nigerians and the unity of Nigeria is non negotiable.
Governor Bindow reiterated that the lives and property of the Igbos are safe in the state he urged them to go about their normal activities like every other Nigerian as their safety is guaranteed under his leadership.
Senator Bindow also urged all people to take advantage of the ongoing registration by INEC and ensure that they obtain their voters card to fulfill their civic responsibility as Nigerians.
Bindow also underscored the fact that his Government has been transparent and prudent with resources adding that the over 219 km of roads built by his administration costs less than 16Billion Naira as against past administrations rates which would have awarded same number of kilometers for over 100 Billion Naira.
The Governor also says the construction of 123 schools will commence in a weeks time as the total sum of 1.9Billion Naira has already been made available for the schools constructions across the state. These he says will further crystallize the emergency that was declared in the education sector. The state of emergency has already begun to yield positive result with the reconstruction of selected secondary schools in the three senatorial zones of the state.
The reconstruction of Numan general hospital has already commence so also the specialist hospital Yola, Mubi general hospital and Ganye general hospitals.
On why road constructions was his first priority, Bindow stated that roads is key to opening up societies to development and investments, making life easy as it affects the life of every citizen who uses road to carry out their daily activities.
Senator Bindow called for support from the people of the state stating that he has not been voted by the people to share the states resources but to ensure that he delivers the dividend of democracy to the people of the state and that is where his commitment lies.
Bindow underscored the fact that the failure of leadership has been the challenge of Adamawa state and promised to ensure that he provides good leadership to the people of the state as much as God gives him the grace calling for more prayers from the people.
Senator Bindow further called for unity amongst the people of the state emphasizing the need to pull all forces together so as to move Adamawa state to the place of progress and abundance.
